🍽️ Overview

Seoul Soul Korean BBQ sits right in the heart of Koreatown LA and offers a premium-feeling experience without the high-end price tag. Parking is conveniently available in the back, with two entrances β€” one from the street and another through the lot β€” making it easy to access.

We were greeted right away and told there would be a short wait, which ended up being less than two minutes. Once seated, the table was already prepared with a generous spread of banchan (side dishes) β€” and this is where Seoul Soul sets itself apart. It was the first Korean BBQ we’ve been to that included a salad among the sides, and even a Korean-flavored macaroni dish that was surprisingly delicious. Every side dish was flavorful, fresh, and refillable as expected.

πŸ₯© Food & Drinks

We opted for the $28 AYCE Lunch Special, sampling several cuts and proteins:

  • Spicy Bulgogi: great flavor, not overly spicy.
  • Spicy BBQ Chicken: the heat built nicely, packed with flavor.
  • Beef Rib Meat & Steak: thin-cut, well-marinated, cooked beautifully on the grill.

The staff also provided a spicy dipping sauce that enhanced everything. Despite only one main server handling most of the floor, the team managed well β€” other staff helped bring meats, switch grills, and refresh sides. The drink list included a solid variety of soju, beer, and wines, covering all the essentials for a BBQ pairing.

πŸŒ† Atmosphere & Facilities

The restaurant has a relaxed yet lively vibe. Each table features individual venting and lighting, keeping the air clear and the space comfortable. Lighting is warm without being dim, adding to the casual, social vibe perfect for friends and family gatherings.

The only odd part was the bathroom setup, with the door propped open and a communal sink β€” not a problem, just unusual. Everything was clean and maintained well.

🧾 Pricing & Service

For $28 per person, the AYCE Lunch Special felt like an excellent deal β€” especially given the quality of cuts, attentive service, and overall experience. Refills could have been a bit faster due to the staffing, but no major delays or issues affected the meal.

🧑 Final Thoughts

Seoul Soul BBQ delivered a satisfying and flavorful lunch experience that balanced great food, comfortable ambiance, and solid value. It’s not a spot for a fancy night out, but it’s a perfect choice for casual dates, hangouts, or family gatherings where the focus is on enjoying the food and atmosphere together.
